Hyderabad: Telangana reported 643 new COVID cases on Wednesday taking the overall tally to 2,75,904 in the state.
Two new deaths are reported on December 9 taking the total tally to 1,482. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 109 new cases while Rangareddy reported 82 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 84 new cases while Warangal Urban reported 56 new cases.
Around 805 citizens recovered from the infection on Wednesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,66,925. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 96.74 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 94.7 per cent.
The government tested 53,396 citizens for the virus on Wednesday. So far 59,73,031 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,60,179. Still, 318 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 7,497 active cases. Of the total active cases, 5,434 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
