COVID 19: Telangana reports 661 fresh COVID cases, drop in tests

Three new deaths are reported on November 14 taking the total tally to 1,404. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 167 new cases while Rangareddy reported 57 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 45 new cases while Sangareddy reported 28 new cases.
Around 1,637 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,40,545. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 93.46 per cent, which approximately equals the national average of 93.1 per cent.
The government tested 21,264 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 48,74,433 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,30,962. Still, 457 reports are awaited. 9.356 primary contacts are tested on Saturday while 2,551 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 15,425 active cases. Of the total active cases, 12,88 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
