COVID 19: Telangana reports 267 fresh COVID cases, active cases drop below 4000
The state currently has 3,919 active cases. Of the total active cases, 2,270 are under home isolation.

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 267 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 2,92,395 in the state.
Two new deaths are reported on January 19, taking the total tally to 1,583. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 55 new cases while Rangareddy reported 16 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajgiri reported 18 new cases while Karimnagar reported 20 new cases.
Around 351 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,86,893. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 98.11 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 96.7 per cent.
The government tested 27,471 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 75,42,537 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 2,02,647. Still, 1006 reports are awaited.

Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
