Hyderabad: Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, the third phase of vaccination will be rolled out across the country from Thursday.

All people above the age of 45 eligible will be eligible for vaccination across the country.

The vaccination drive for every citizen aged above 45 years, regardless of co­morbidities will begin from Thursday. Until now, apart from healthcare workers (HCWs) and frontline workers (FLWs), people aged 60 years or above, and those in the 45­49 year age group with co­morbidities were eligible for the vaccination. Certificates of comorbidity had to be produced for the jab.

This round of vaccination will make the largest age cohort eligible for phase-wise administration of the jabs.

It will cover the population which is at the highest risk. Ninety percent of Covid deaths in India have been in the category of those above the age of 45.

Steps to register for the COVID-19 vaccine

Go to cowin.gov.in

Enter your mobile number and click on the OTP (One Time Password).

Enter the OTP received on your mobile number and click on the verify button.

Register with a photo ID such as Aadhaar, Driving Licence.

Now fill in your details like name, age, gender, and address.

After the registration process, the system will display account details.

In front of the registered names' account details, you will see a column named "Action". Below it, you will see a calendar icon, click on it to schedule an appointment.

You will be taken to "Book Appointment for Vaccination" page. Now, enter details like State/UT, District, Block, and Pincode. Once all these details are entered, click on the "Search" button.

A list of vaccination centers will appear depending on your location. You can choose one of them and then see the vaccination dates available at these centers.

An "Appointment Confirmation" page will open showing the details of the booking. You can either click on "Confirm"

In the end, an "Appointment Successful" page will appear showing all the details.

You can download and save the confirmation of the vaccination details.

One can also register for vaccination through the AarogyaSetu App or walk-in for on-spot registration.

As per the health ministry rules, up to 4 persons can be registered for vaccination using the same mobile number.

Documents

Documents including Aadhaar card, driving licence, health insurance, smart card issued by the Ministry of Labour, MNREGA guarantee card, MNREGA job card, official identity card issued by MPs, MLAs, PAN card, passbook of bank or post office, passport, pension documents, service identity card issued to employees by central/state government or public limited companies, and Voter ID cards can be used for registration.

A provisional certificate will be provided after the first dose. Upon completion of the second dose, the beneficiary will receive a link to download a digital certificate of vaccination.

Meanwhile, the state has administered 13,21,050 vaccines, including 9,93,622 first dose and 2,36,715 second dose. Around 4,25,940 vaccine jabs were given to persons above 60 years of age followed by 3,94,841 health care workers, 2,29,002 person above 45 years with comorbidities, and 1,80,554 to frontline workers.

The state also reported only 2.01 percent vaccine wastage.
