Telangana registers 111 new COVID 19 cases, tally crosses 3 lakh

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 111 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 3,00,011 in the state.

The state reported one new death on March 7 taking the total death tally to 1,642.

The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 27 new cases while Rangareddy reported 10 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing an increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigir reported 9 news cases while Adilabad reported 8 cases.

Around 189 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,96,562. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 98.85 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 96.9 per cent.

The government tested 19,929 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 89,84,552 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 2,41,390. Still, 349 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 1,807 active cases. Of the total active cases, 689 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
