Another UK returnee from Medchal tests positive for Coronavirus on Monday

Hyderabad: Another person from Medchal, who had recently returned from the UK, tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday. With this, the total number of positive cases among the UK returnees to the state is at 21. Four of them were from Hyderabad, nine from Medchal-Malkajgiri district, two from Jagittala district, one each from Manchiryala, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Siddipet and Warangal urban districts. All of them have put in special wards at different hospitals.

Medical Health Minister Etela Rajender expressed happiness over the Telangana Medical Health Department tracing 1,060 UK returnees within 72 hours and also conducted tests on 996 people and they have tested negative for Covid-19. Test results for nine persons are yet to complete.

The Telangana Medical Health Department has been on high alert in the wake of the arrival of a new strain of Coronavirus.

Since 156 persons are yet to be traced the Department of Medical Health has asked these UK returnees to willingly come forward by calling 040-24651119 or WhatsApp 9154170960.
