Couple commits suicide in Vanasthalipuram

Hyderabad: A couple, stating they do not want to live and have decided to end their life, committed suicide in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad, on 11 February. Local people found the bodies of Ghendi Venkat Reddy and his wife, Nikhitha, hanging at their residence and alerted the police.

The couple is survived by a two-year-old son. Vanasthalipuram police have registered a case and started an investigation.

According to the police, the couple had been married for four years and were residing at B.N Reddy Nagar for more than three years. Venkat Reddy worked for a local TV channel, while his wife was a homemaker.

Initial investigation revealed that the couple could have taken this extreme step due to financial problems. Since their families did not express any suspicion over their death, police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and started an investigation.
