COVID-19: Six employees of a pharma giant test positive in Bolarum

Hyderabad: Six workers working at a pharmaceutical facility at the Bollaram industrial area in Telangana's Sangareddy district have tested positive for COVID-19. All six had been working for the pharma giant for the past few years and are residents of the surrounding villages. Two are from Sangareddy, two from Ameenpur, and the others from Bollaram.

Many pharma giants have their R&D and manufacturing facilities in the area. After the six tested positive for COVID-19, several companies located in the industrial area stepped up their sanitisation activities and precautionary measures for their employees.

Meanwhile, the six workers have been quarantined and their family members have been advised to stay under home quarantine till further instructions from the health officials. Since none of them had any symptoms of the virus, they were told to contact the health officials in case they develop any.

Further, sanitisation measures have also been taken up at the facility as a precautionary measure. A few other employees, including senior staff members, were also advised to quarantine themselves at home. The company officials have confirmed that they have been following all the protocols as per the ICMR guidelines and are taking adequate measures for the safety of their employees.
