COVID 19: Telangana crosses 2L cases, 1,335 cases on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 5 Oct 2020 3:37 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,335 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 2,00,611 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on October 4 taking the total tally to 1,171. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 262 new cases while Rangareddy reported 137 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 91 new cases while Karimnagar reported 83 new cases.
Around 2,176 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,72,388. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 85.93 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 84.1 per cent.
The government tested 36,348 citizens for the virus on Sunday So far 32,41,597 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 87,092. Still, 569 reports are awaited. 15,993 primary contacts are tested on Sunday while 4,362 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 27,052 active cases. Of the total active cases, 22,134 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
