COVID 19: Telangana death toll crosses 1,100 marks, 1,967 fresh COVID cases on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 27 Sep 2020 3:47 AM GMTHyderabad: Nine new deaths are reported on September 26 taking the total tally to 1,100. The fatality rate in the state is 0.59 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.57 per cent.
Telangana reported 1,967 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 1,85,833 in the state.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 297 new cases while Rangareddy reported 147 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 152 new cases while Medchal Malkajgiri reported 137 new cases.
Around 2,058 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,54,499. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 83.13 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 82.39 per cent.
The government tested 50,108 citizens for the virus on Saturday So far 28,50,869 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 76,788. Still, 1,520 reports are awaited. 22,047 primary contacts are tested on Saturday while 6,012 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 30,234 active cases. Of the total active cases 24,607 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
