COVID 19: Telangana records highest single-day spike of 1924 cases, 11 deaths

With this, the overall tally has jumped to 29.536 in the state.
Eleven people succumbed to the infection on Wednesday taking the death toll to 324 in the state.
GHMC areas continue to report the highest number of COVID-19 cases. Around 1,590 positive cases were reported on Wednesday. Rangareddy district reported 99 new COVID-19 cases, while Medchal reported 43 cases.
The government said of the 17,081 beds available, 15,752 are lying vacant in different government hospitals in the state.
The government currently has 11,928 isolation beds, 3,537 oxygen beds, and 1,616 ICU beds. Of these, 11,268 isolation, 3,041 oxygen beds, and 1,437 ICU bed are vacant. Only 1,335 beds are occupied presently.
Gandhi Hospital has 1890 vacant beds. Around 749 COVID patients are presently admitted to the hospital. Of the patients, 445 are on oxygen support and CPAP support, 133 are in the ICU, and 171 patients are in the wards.
The government said only critical cases are admitted to Gandhi hospital, while patients with moderate symptoms are admitted to District Hospital King Koti, Government Chest Hospital, and Fever Hospital.
The state tested 6363 new samples on Wednesday. So far 134,801 samples have been tested in the state. The positivity rate of the state remains one of the highest in the country. The positivity rate jumped to 30.2 percent on Wednesday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state now stands at 11,933.
