COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,021 fresh COVID cases, Six deaths on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 12 Oct 2020 4:03 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,021 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 2,13,084 in the state.
Six new deaths are reported on October 11 taking the total tally to 1,228. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 228 new cases while Rangareddy reported 68 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 84 new cases while Karimnagar reported 67 new cases.
Around 2,214 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,87,342. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 87.91 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 86.2 per cent.
The government tested 30,210 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 35,77,261 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 96,111. Still, 628 reports are awaited. 13,292 primary contacts are tested on Sunday while 3,625 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 24,514 active cases. Of the total active cases, 20,036 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
