COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,378 fresh COVID cases, drop in testing on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 28 Sep 2020 3:38 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,378 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 1,87,211 in the state.
Seven new deaths are reported on September 27 taking the total tally to 1,107. The fatality rate in the state is 0.59 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.57 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 254 new cases while Rangareddy reported 110 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 78 new cases while Medchal Malkajgiri reported 73 new cases.
Around 1,932 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,56,431. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 83.55 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 82.53 per cent.
The government tested 35,465 citizens for the virus on Sunday So far 28,86,335 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 77,743. Still, 952 reports are awaited. 15,605 primary contacts are tested on Sunday while 4,255 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 29,673 active cases. Of the total active cases 24,054 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
