COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,417 fresh COVID cases, drop in testing
By Newsmeter Network Published on 14 Sep 2020 4:04 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,417 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 1,58,513 in the state.
Thirteen new deaths are reported on September 13 taking the total tally to 974. The fatality rate in the state is 0.61 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.64 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 264 new cases while Rangareddy reported 133 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 108 new cases while Sangareddy reported 107 new cases.
Around 2,479 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,27,007. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 80.1 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 77.87 per cent.
The government tested 34,427 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 21,69,339 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 58,431.
The state currently has 30,532 active cases.
Of the total cases, 23,639 are under home isolation. Of those, 69 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 31 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,751 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,566 isolation beds, 4,611 oxygen beds, and 1,574 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
