COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,436 fresh COVID cases, Six deaths on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 Oct 2020 4:28 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,436 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 2,22,111 in the state.
Six new deaths are reported on October 17 taking the total tally to 1,271. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 249 new cases while Rangareddy reported 110 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 105 new cases while Khammam reported 78 new cases.
Around 2,154 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,98,790. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 89.5 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 88 per cent.
The government tested 41,043 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 38,30,503 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,02,915. Still, 965 reports are awaited. 18,059 primary contacts are tested on Saturday while 4,925 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 22,050 active cases. Of the total active cases, 18,279 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
