COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,446 fresh COVID cases, Eight deaths on Tuesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 14 Oct 2020 4:15 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,446 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 2,16,238 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on October 13 taking the total tally to 1,241. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 252 new cases while Rangareddy reported 135 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 131 new cases while Karimnagar reported 74 new cases.
Around 1,918 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,91,269. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 88.45 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 87 per cent.
The government tested 40,056 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 36,64,152 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 98,445. Still, 1,049 reports are awaited. 17,624 primary contacts are tested on Tuesday while 4,806 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 23,728 active cases. Of the total active cases, 19,413 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
