COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,481 fresh COVID cases, Four deaths on Tuesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 28 Oct 2020 4:06 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,481 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 2,34,152 in the state.
Four new deaths are reported on October 27 taking the total tally to 1,319. The fatality rate in the state is 0.56 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 279 new cases while Rangareddy reported 111 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 138 new cases while Nalgonda and Khammam both reported 82 new cases.
Around 1,451 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,14,917. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 91.78 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 90.7 per cent.
The government tested 40,081 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 41,55,597 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,11,649. Still, 664 reports are awaited. 17,635 primary contacts are tested on Tuesday while 4,809 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 17,916 active cases. Of the total active cases, 14,883 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
