COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,486 fresh COVID cases, Seven deaths on Monday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 20 Oct 2020 4:04 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,486 new COVID cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 2,24,545 in the state.
Seven new deaths are reported on October 19 taking the total tally to 1,282. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 235 new cases while Rangareddy reported 112 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 102 new cases while Khammam reported 89 new cases.
Around 1,891 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,02,577. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 90.21 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 88.6 per cent.
The government tested 42,299 citizens for the virus on Monday. So far 38,98,829 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,04,750. Still, 923 reports are awaited. 18,611 primary contacts are tested on Monday while 5,075 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 20,686 active cases. Of the total active cases, 17,4208 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
