COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,504 fresh COVID cases, Five deaths on Wednesday

Five new deaths are reported on October 28 taking the total tally to 1,3324. The fatality rate in the state is 0.56 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 288 new cases while Rangareddy reported 115 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 118 new cases while Nalgonda reported 93 new cases.
Around 1,436 citizens recovered from the infection on Wednesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,16,353. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 91.80 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 90.9 per cent.
The government tested 41,962 citizens for the virus on Wednesday. So far 41,96,958 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,12,760. Still, 1049 reports are awaited. 18,463 primary contacts are tested on Wednesday while 5,035 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 17,979 active cases. Of the total active cases, 14,938 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
