COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,531 fresh COVID cases, Six deaths on Thursday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 Oct 2020 5:17 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,531 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 2,37,187 in the state.
Six new deaths are reported on October 29 taking the total tally to 1,330. The fatality rate in the state is 0.56 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 293 new cases while Rangareddy reported 114 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 120 new cases while Khammam reported 83 new cases.
Around 1,048 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,17,401. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 91.65 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 91 per cent.
The government tested 43,790 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 42,40,748 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,13,937. Still, 1,037 reports are awaited. 19,267 primary contacts are tested on Thursday while 5,254 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 18,456 active cases. Of the total active cases, 15,425 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
