COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,682 fresh COVID cases; Eight deaths on Monday

Eight new deaths are reported on August 17 taking the total tally to 711. The fatality rate in the state is 0.75 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.92 per cent.
Around 2,070 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 72,202. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 76.86 per cent, which is approximately three per cent higher than the national average of 72.51 per cent.
The state currently has 21,024 active cases.
The government tested 19,579 citizens for the virus on Monday. So far 7,72,928 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 20,818.
Of the total cases, 14,140 are under home isolation. Of those, 84 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 17.2 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.1 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,807 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,636 isolation beds, 4,693 oxygen beds, and 1,478 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals
