COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,708 fresh COVID cases, five deaths on Monday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 Oct 2020 3:48 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,708 new COVID cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 2,14,792 in the state.
Five new deaths are reported on October 12 taking the total tally to 1,233. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 277 new cases while Rangareddy reported 137 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 124 new cases while Karimnagar reported 86 new cases.
Around 2,009 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,89,351. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 88.15 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 86.8 per cent.
The government tested 46,835 citizens for the virus on Monday. So far 36,24,096 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 97,369. Still, 628 reports are awaited. 20,607 primary contacts are tested on Monday while 5,620 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 24,208 active cases. Of the total active cases, 19,748 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
