COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,717 fresh COVID cases, Five deaths on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 11 Oct 2020 4:22 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,717 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 2,12,063 in the state.
Five new deaths are reported on October 10 taking the total tally to 1,222. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 276 new cases while Rangareddy reported 132 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 131 new cases while Nalgonda reported 101 new cases.
Around 2,103 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,85,128. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 87.29 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 85.9 per cent.
The government tested 46,657 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 35,47,051 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 95,299. Still, 1,029 reports are awaited. 20,529 primary contacts are tested on Saturday while 5,598 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 25,713 active cases. Of the total active cases, 21,209 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
