COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,718 fresh COVID cases, Eight deaths on Friday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 Oct 2020 3:44 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,718 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 1,97,327 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on October 2 taking the total tally to 1,153. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.6 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 285 new cases while Rangareddy reported 129 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 115 new cases while Karimnagar reported 105 new cases.
Around 2,002 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,67,846. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 85.05 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 83.8 per cent.
The government tested 49,084 citizens for the virus on Friday So far 31,53,626 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 84,729. Still, 994 reports are awaited. 21,597 primary contacts are tested on Friday while 5,890 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 28,328 active cases. Of the total active cases, 23,324 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
