COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,811 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Friday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 10 Oct 2020 3:57 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,811 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 2,10,346 in the state.
Nine new deaths are reported on October 9 taking the total tally to 1,217. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 291 new cases while Rangareddy reported 138 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 171 new cases while Nalgonda reported 108 new cases.
Around 2,072 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,83,025. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 87.01 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 85.7 per cent.
The government tested 50,469 citizens for the virus on Friday. So far 35,00,394 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 94,046. Still, 1,236 reports are awaited. 22,206 primary contacts are tested on Friday while 6,056 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 26,104 active cases. Of the total active cases, 21,551 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
