COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,891 fresh COVID cases, Seven deaths on Thursday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 9 Oct 2020 3:36 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,891 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 2,08,535 in the state.
Seven new deaths are reported on October 8 taking the total tally to 1,208. The fatality rate in the state is 0.57 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 285 new cases while Rangareddy reported 175 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 195 new cases while Karimnagar reported 97 new cases.
Around 1,878 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,80,953. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 86.77 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 85.5 per cent.
The government tested 53,086 citizens for the virus on Thursday So far 34,49,925 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 92,690. Still, 915 reports are awaited. 23,358 primary contacts are tested on Thursday while 6,370 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 26,374 active cases. Of the total active cases, 21,801 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
