COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,949 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 4 Oct 2020 3:59 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,949 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 1,99,276 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on October 3 taking the total tally to 1,163. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.6 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 291 new cases while Rangareddy reported 156 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 150 new cases while Karimnagar reported 114 new cases.
Around 2,366 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,70,212. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 85.41 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 84.1 per cent.
The government tested 41,623 citizens for the virus on Saturday So far 32,05,249 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 86,116. Still, 569 reports are awaited. 22,714 primary contacts are tested on Saturday while 6,194 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 27,901 active cases. Of the total active cases, 22,816 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
