COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,967 fresh COVID cases, Eight deaths on Thursday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 21 Aug 2020 3:39 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,967 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 99,391 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on August 20 taking the total tally to 737. The fatality rate in the state is 0.74 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.90 per cent.
Around 1,781 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 76,967. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 77.43 per cent, which is approximately four per cent higher than the national average of 73.64 per cent.
The state currently has 21,687 active cases.
The government tested 26,767 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 8,48,078 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 22,843.
Of the total cases, 15,332 are under home isolation. Of those, 84 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 17.2 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.1 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 18,011 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,550 isolation beds, 4,807 oxygen beds, and 1,654 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
