COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,983 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 Oct 2020 3:49 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 1,983 new COVID cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 2,02,594 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on October 5 taking the total tally to 1,181. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.6 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 292 new cases while Rangareddy reported 187 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 145 new cases while Khammam reported 117 new cases.
Around 2,381 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,74,769. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 86.26 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 84.7 per cent.
The government tested 50,598 citizens for the virus on Monday So far 32,92,195 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 88,452. Still, 858 reports are awaited. 22,263 primary contacts are tested on Monday while 6,071 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 26,644 active cases. Of the total active cases, 22,263 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
