COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,009 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Thursday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 2 Oct 2020 3:37 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,009 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 1,95,609 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on October 1 taking the total tally to 1,145. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.6 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 293 new cases while Rangareddy reported 171 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 173 new cases while Karimnagar reported 114 new cases.
Around 2,437 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,65,844. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 84.78 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 83.5 per cent.
The government tested 54,098 citizens for the virus on Thursday So far 31,04,542 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 83,410. Still, 1,151 reports are awaited. 23,803 primary contacts are tested on Thursday while 6,492 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 28,620 active cases. Of the total active cases, 23,372 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
