COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,043 fresh COVID cases, Eleven deaths on Thursday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 Sep 2020 3:30 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,043 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 1,65,003 in the state.
Eleven new deaths are reported on September 17 taking the total tally to 1016. The fatality rate in the state is 0.60 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.61 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 314 new cases while Rangareddy reported 174 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 131 new cases while Siddipet reported 121 new cases.
Around 1,802 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,35,357. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 81.02 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 78.84 per cent.
The government tested 50,634 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 23,79,950 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 64,104.
The state currently has 30,673 active cases.
Of the total cases, 24,081 are under home isolation. Of those, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,932 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,950 isolation beds, 4,470 oxygen beds, and 1,512 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
