COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,072 fresh COVID cases, Nine deaths on Monday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 29 Sep 2020 3:47 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,072 new COVID cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 1,89,283 in the state.
Nine new deaths are reported on September 28 taking the total tally to 1,116. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.57 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 283 new cases while Rangareddy reported 161 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 160 new cases while Nalgonda reported 139 new cases.
Around 2,259 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,58,690. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 83.83 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 82.88 per cent.
The government tested 54,308 citizens for the virus on Monday So far 29,40,642 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 79,206. Still, 790 reports are awaited. 23,895 primary contacts are tested on Monday while 6,517 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 39,477 active cases. Of the total active cases 23,934 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
