COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,123 fresh COVID cases, Nine deaths on Friday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 19 Sep 2020 3:31 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,123 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 1,69,169 in the state.
Nine new deaths are reported on September 18 taking the total tally to 1025. The fatality rate in the state is 0.60 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.61 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 305 new cases while Rangareddy reported 185 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 135 new cases while Karimnagar reported 112 new cases.
Around 2,151 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,37,508. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 81.28 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 79.26 per cent.
The government tested 54,459 citizens for the virus on Friday. So far 24,34,409 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 65,570.
The state currently has 30,636 active cases.
Of the total cases, 24,070 are under home isolation. Of those, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,908 vacant beds for COVID patients.
