COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,137 fresh COVID cases, Eight deaths on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 20 Sep 2020 4:18 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,137 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 1,71,306 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on September 19 taking the total tally to 1033. The fatality rate in the state is 0.60 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.60 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 322 new cases while Rangareddy reported 182 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 132 new cases while Nalgonda reported 124 new cases.
Around 2,192 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,37,508. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 81.54 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 79.65 per cent.
The government tested 53,811 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 24,88,220 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 67,020.
The state currently has 30,573 active cases.
Of the total cases, 24,019 are under home isolation. Of those, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,884 vacant beds for COVID patients.
