COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,154 fresh COVID cases, Eight deaths on Tuesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 7 Oct 2020 4:26 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,154 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 2,04,748 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on October 6 taking the total tally to 1,189. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.6 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 303 new cases while Rangareddy reported 205 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 187 new cases while Khammam reported 121 new cases.
Around 2,239 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,77,008. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 86.45 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 84.9 per cent.
The government tested 54,277 citizens for the virus on Tuesday So far 33,46,472 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 89,910. Still, 1,525 reports are awaited. 23,882 primary contacts are tested on Tuesday while 6,513 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 26,551 active cases. Of the total active cases, 21,864 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
