COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,166 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Monday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 22 Sep 2020 3:44 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,166 new COVID cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 1,74,774 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on September 21 taking the total tally to 1,052. The fatality rate in the state is 0.60 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.60 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 309 new cases while Rangareddy reported 166 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 127 new cases while Nalgonda reported 113 new cases.
Around 2,143 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,44,073. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 82.43 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 80.82 per cent.
The government tested 53,690 citizens for the virus on Monday. So far 25,73,005 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 69,304. Still, 1,528 reports are still awaited. 23,624 primary contacts are tested on Monday while 6,443 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 29,649 active cases. Of the total active cases, 22,620 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
