COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,214 fresh COVID cases, Eight deaths on Wednesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 1 Oct 2020 5:59 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,214 new COVID cases on Wednesday taking the overall tally to 1,93,600 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on September 30 taking the total tally to 1,135. The fatality rate in the state is 0.58 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.56 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 305 new cases while Rangareddy reported 191 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 153 new cases while Nalgonda reported 149 new cases.
Around 2,474 citizens recovered from the infection on Wednesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,63,407. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 84.40 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 83.51 per cent.
The government tested 54,443 citizens for the virus on Wednesday So far 30,50,444 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 81,957. Still, 1,393 reports are awaited. 23,955 primary contacts are tested on Wednesday while 6,533 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 29,058 active cases. Of the total active cases, 23,702 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 21 and 40 years contribute to 29.98 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.85 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
