COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,216 fresh COVID cases, Eleven deaths on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 Sep 2020 3:54 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,216 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 1,57,096 in the state.
Eleven new deaths are reported on September 12 taking the total tally to 961. The fatality rate in the state is 0.61 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.65 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 341 new cases while Rangareddy reported 210 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 126 new cases while Karimnagar reported 119 cases.
Around 2,603 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,24,528. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 79.2 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 77.84 per cent.
The government tested 56,217 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 21,34,912 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 57,504.
The state currently has 31,607 active cases.
Of the total cases, 24,674 are under home isolation. Of those, 69 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 31 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,671 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,464 isolation beds, 4,626 oxygen beds, and 1,581 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
