COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,296 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Tuesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 23 Sep 2020 3:49 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,296 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 1,77,070 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on September 22 taking the total tally to 1,060. The fatality rate in the state is 0.59 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.59 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 321 new cases while Rangareddy reported 217 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 155 new cases while Karimnagar reported 136 new cases.
Around 2,062 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,46,135. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 82.52 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 81.23 per cent.
The government tested 55,892 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 26,28,897 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 70,809. Still, 1,388 reports are still awaited. 24,592 primary contacts are tested on Monday while 6,707 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 29,873 active cases. Of the total active cases 23,527 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 15.54 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.91 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
