COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,479 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Tuesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 9 Sep 2020 3:02 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,479 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 1,47,642 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on September 8 taking the total tally to 916. The fatality rate in the state is 0.62 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.69 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 322 new cases while Rangareddy reported 188 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 120 new cases while Nalgonda reported 10 8cases.
Around 2,485 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,15,072. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 77.9 per cent, which approximately equals the national average of 77.76 per cent.
The state currently has 31,654 active cases.
The government tested 62,649 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 18,90,554 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 50,922.
Of the total cases, 24,741 are under home isolation. Of those, 69 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,737 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,491 isolation beds, 4,645 oxygen beds, and 1,601 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
