COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,511 fresh COVID cases, Eleven deaths on Friday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 5 Sep 2020 4:06 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,511 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 1,38,395 in the state.
Eleven new deaths are reported on September 4 taking the total tally to 877. The fatality rate in the state is 0.63 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.73 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 305 new cases while Rangareddy reported 184 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 170 new cases while Karimnagar reported 150 cases.
Around 2,579 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,04,603. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 75.5 per cent, which is approximately two per cent less than the national average of 77.24 per cent.
The state currently has 32,915 active cases.
The government tested 62,132 citizens for the virus on Friday. So far 16,67,653 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 44,918.
Of the total cases, 25,729 are under home isolation. Of those, 69 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,666 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,511 isolation beds, 4,602 oxygen beds, and 1,553 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
