COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,574 fresh cases on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 Sep 2020 4:24 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,574 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 1,40,969 in the state.
Nine new deaths are reported on September 5, taking the total tally to 886. The fatality rate in the state is 0.62 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.71 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 325 new cases while Rangareddy reported 197 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 158 new cases while Karimnagar reported 144 cases.
Around 2,927 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 1,07,530. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 76.2 per cent, which is approximately two per cent less than the national average of 77.29 per cent.
The state currently has 32,553 active cases.
The government tested 62,736 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 17,30,389 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 46,608.
Of the total cases, 25,449 are under home isolation. Of those, 69 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,703 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,454 isolation beds, 4,646 oxygen beds, and 1,603 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
