COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,795 fresh COVID cases, Eight deaths on Wednesday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 27 Aug 2020 8:37 AM ISTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,795 new COVID cases on Wednesday taking the overall tally to 1,14,483 in the state.
Eight new deaths are reported on August 26 taking the total tally to 788. The fatality rate in the state is 0.68 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.84 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 449 new cases while Rangareddy reported 268 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 164 new cases while Khammam reported 152 cases.
Around 872 citizens recovered from the infection on Wednesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 86,095. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 75.2 per cent, which is approximately one per cent less than the national average of 76.28 per cent.
The state currently has 27,600 active cases.
The government tested 60,386 citizens for the virus on Wednesday. So far 11,42,480 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 30,772.
Of the total cases, 20,866 are under home isolation. Of those, 84 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,908 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,562 isolation beds, 4,756 oxygen beds, and 1,590 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
