COVID 19: Telangana reports 2,924 fresh COVID cases, Ten deaths on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 Aug 2020 3:48 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 2,924 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 1,23,090 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on August 29 taking the total tally to 818. The fatality rate in the state is 0.66 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.79 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 449 new cases while Rangareddy reported 213 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 172 new cases while Nalgonda reported 171 cases.
Around 1,638 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 90,988. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 73.9 per cent, which is approximately three per cent less than the national average of 76.63 per cent.
The state currently has 31,284 active cases.
The government tested 61,148 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 13,27,791 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 35,763.
Of the total cases, 24,176 are under home isolation. Of those, 84 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,650 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,554 isolation beds, 4,584 oxygen beds, and 1,512 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
