COVID 19: Telangana reports 582 fresh COVID cases, Four deaths on Sunday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 Oct 2020 3:40 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 582 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 2,31,834 in the state.
Four new deaths are reported on October 25 taking the total tally to 1,311. The fatality rate in the state is 0.56 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 174 new cases while Rangareddy reported 55 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Nalgonda reported 87 new cases while Medchal Malkajgiri reported 38 new cases.
Around 1,432 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,11,912. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 91.40 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 90.2 per cent.
The government tested 14,729 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 40,94,417 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,10,005. Still, 720 reports are awaited. 6,480 primary contacts are tested on Sunday while 1,767 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 18,611 active cases. Of the total active cases, 15,582 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
