COVID 19: Telangana reports 978 fresh COVID cases, Four deaths on Saturday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 25 Oct 2020 4:10 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 978 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 2,31,252 in the state.
Four new deaths are reported on October 24 taking the total tally to 1,307. The fatality rate in the state is 0.56 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 185 new cases while Rangareddy reported 89 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 86 new cases while Khammam reported 62 new cases.
Around 1,446 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,10,480. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 91.01 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 89.9 per cent.
The government tested 27,055 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 40,79,688 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,09,610. Still, 955 reports are awaited. 11,904 primary contacts are tested on Saturday while 3,246 secondary contacts are tested.
The state currently has 19,465 active cases. Of the total active cases, 16,430 are under home isolation.
Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
