COVID-19: Telangana sees over 1800 positive cases, crosses 66k mark
By Newsmeter Network Published on 2 Aug 2020 5:49 AM GMTHyderabad: As per the latest medical bulletin released by the government of Telangana, the tally of total COVID positive cases in the state crossed the 66,000 mark on August 1st.
On August 1st, 1,891 citizens tested positive for the virus, taking the total number to 66,677. A total of 19,202 samples were tested.
Ten citizens succumbed to the virus on the date, while 1,088 recovered.
The total deaths in the state now stand at 540. The case fatality rate of Telangana (0.80%) on the date is lower than the average fatality rate nationally (2.15%).
Recovery rate in the state (71.3%), is also higher than the national average of 64.53%.
As of August 1st, the Telangana state has 18,547 active COVID cases.
The bulletin also mentioned that of the 12,001 citizens placed under home isolation, 84% are asymptomatic.
Bed vacancies:
The state currently has 15,810 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Of the total, 11,099 isolation beds, 3,365 oxygen beds, and 1,346 ICU beds are vacant at state hospitals.
