COVID cases fall below 1000 in Telangana, drop in testing
By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 Aug 2020 5:46 AM GMTHyderabad: For the first time in the last one month the COVID cases have dropped below 1000 in Telangana. It is also pertinent to note that there has been a drop in number of samples tested, A total of 9443 samples were tested.
According to the medical bulletin, Telengana reported 983 positive cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 67,660. Earlier on June 30, the state had reported less than 1000 cases.
Eleven people succumbed to the infection taking the overall death toll to 551. The fatality rate of Telangana is 0.81% which is lower than the national average of 2.13%.
Around 1,019 people have recovered. The recovery rate in the state stands at 71.8% which is higher than the national average of 65.4%.
Till August 2, Telangana state has 18,500 active COVID cases. The bulletin also mentioned that of the 11,911 people under home isolation, 84% are asymptomatic.
Bed vacancies:
The state currently has 14,571 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Of the total 14571 beds available, 11,085 isolation beds, 2184 are oxygen beds and 1,302 ICU beds are lying vacant.
