With no help from neighbours or villagers, the body was shifted to the burial ground for final rites in a JCB.
According to sources, the 49-year-old man, belonging to Sangam village of Valigonda Mandal in the district, contracted the virus a few days ago and was under home isolation and he died on Sunday.
The family members informed the village authorities and sought a vehicle for shifting the body. In a village, tractors are arranged for the purpose.
Though there were vehicles available, the drivers refused to attend the task as it was a COVID patient. Further, the kin of the COVID patient could not get any support from neighbours or other villagers forcing them to wait with the body at home for hours.
Finally, they could hire a JCB vehicle to shift the body. As the vehicle arrived, his wife and family members, wearing PPE kits, placed the body in the JCB bucket and the family members accompanied the body on their scooter.
