Had cooked up allegations against cops: Meal Max owner, wife
By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 Dec 2019 7:22 AM GMTHyderabad: Days after levelling serious allegations against the police, the owner of Meal Max, a popular eatery at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, and his wife have backtracked. Atluri Suresh and his wife Pravija the owners of Meal Max were recently arrested for allegedly misbehaving with cops, including a policewoman, inside Banjara Hills police station.
In a fresh video circulating on social media, Pravija is seen apologising to the police and also the media for wasting their time. "We are receiving several calls from our relatives and friends, saying that what we have done is not correct. As we had claimed earlier, nobody assaulted us or sexually harassed me inside the police station. We claimed that we had proofs for all this. But we do not have any proofs as all the allegations are false," she said.
On his part, Suresh said they were out of mind and under extreme pressure due to which they resorted to cooking up the allegations. "In addition to these conditions, we did not have proper sleep in the past few days which made us more depressed. We apologise to everyone about the false allegations on police department and also misleading media and public," he said.
Suresh had a complaint against him at the Banjara Hills police station for not returning money taken from a friend. He and Pravija came to the police station as part of the inquiry. While the inquiry was in process inside the inspector's chamber, the couple started shouting and created a ruckus. They were arrested three days ago.
